Cosplayers talk what’s new at Anime Corpus Christi

Good morning. A lot of events are planned this weekend over the American Bank Center for anime Corpus Christi. There’s gonna be a Demon Slayer theme day today and joining us are cosplayers, Audie Eli and Kit Noel live from there right now. Good morning.

I introduced you guys but go ahead and tell everybody here in the Coastal Bend, who you guys are. Cosplay as I’m Mx Jellyfish and I’m cosplaying as Toro Commodo from the anime Demon Slayer. I’m Kit. I am cos playing Nozuko. We are the siblings and the main characters of the show.

You guys look amazing, especially at six in the morning. I know it’s gonna be an exciting weekend. Demons later day today for people who might not be aware of that. What can they expect for the fans, maybe the newbies. So this year, we’re introducing uh community panels,

Which means that we’re gonna have a bunch of panels actually led by attendees. In addition to that, we’ll have a comp play contest uh later tonight and we’ll have a ton of booths, artist alleys and a maid cafe. So come check it out.

There is definitely so much to do and tell us how you guys got into cosplay. There’s so much time effort that goes into this. How did you get your start? So me personally, I was obsessed with Halloween growing up. And during quarantine,

I got so much time on my hands that I decided to start doing this more full time and I didn’t stop even after the COVID restrictions were lifted. What about you, Kim? So I technically started co buying around, oh, I technically started co buying around 1314 years ago. Um

My back story is a lot more like convoluted uh as a kid, I was in the hospital a lot and I got visits from pediatric volunteers doing superheroes and stuff and I was like, what if I also did that? And I, I also didn’t stop. You guys look amazing and definitely not scary.

This is a friend, family friendly event for everybody, but just for us who are curious how long give or take goes into behind the scenes, getting you guys ready for these events myself. I woke up at 2 a.m. this morning in order to get dressed.

I was a lot more lucky to wake up at four. So less time, it depends on the costume. Really. You guys are awesome. You could do morning news if you’re able to get up and get into costume that early. Thanks so much for starting your day with us and we

Look forward to seeing y’all out at Demon Slayer day, as well as the rest of the weekend.
