      I need to toughen up, i was all sad when you guys all died 😥 but the "RAY OF FROST" did cheer me up again and the "prepare to die" brought me all back 😃

      Idk, in the event of a party wipe I think a good dm should have the players wake up in the tavern, probably with a lingering wound.
      cause a TPK is generally a mistake of the DM.

      If my players are this insistent on doong this, im just gonna ruin that minimal effort by thinking of a way to bring back the old character.
      A deus ex machina is better storytelling than this nonsense.

      I had the opportunity two weeks ago to give my DM his first PC death when he one shotted, for 42 points of damage from a giant slime monster, my Level 3 Tiefling Rogue with 21 hit points. Irony is that my son suggested that I use my Tiefling's stats & create a plasmoid level 2 wild magic sorcerer/level 3 rogue to replace him (he was created via a wild magic surge during the Tiefling's death & final "hellish rebuke").

      I clearly don't see the similarities, they are obviously not the same characters. They say it themselves, they are siblings, you can't be sibling of yourself.

      To be honest, sometimes, if you can't quite just jump from say a Cleric to a Bard, your new Order Domain Cleric might be very similar to your old Forge Domain Cleric.

      In one interactive I'm doing, I got a Rabitfolk person who has mentioned playing three different types of Cleric – currently, they are a Life Domain Cleric, but, in a prior campaign, they were once a Forge Domain Cleric that got turned into Hassenpfeffer by a dragon, and thus ended up becoming an Order Domain Cleric after that battle.
