This is gonna look so good!!! The silver shirt over the corset looks so good. also if you plan to do more sewing for cosplays you should buy a sewing machine
Girl just get a sewing machine!😂❤ It's an awesome investment for your influencer future! Plenty of YouTube videos to learn how to use your machine. Just get a basic one to start. You got this!
If you don’t already have a chunky silver necklace for he neck peice, Have you considered spare silver from the shirt sewn onto the neck of ur shirt, Or ducttaping and glueing it to the neck?
From an experienced sewer, the thread you were using may be a big part of the problem you were having. That particular kind of thread is super low-quality and breaks constantly. I recommend Coaks and Clark thread, or even the Hello Hobby brand from Walmart. As for tips on hand sewing, Bernadette Banner here on YouTube has some great tutorials! You did amazing for the experience and materials you had, and I'm super proud of you! Keep it up, and welcome to the hobby! ❤
No bc I know exactly how ur gonna do this. Get some silver embroidery thread and sew horizontally where you want those armor lines to be on that OG costume, just a normal running stitch will hold it and you’d get some great texture as well!! Just sew through the silver fabric and the first layer of your corset.
So I also hand sew clothes, and yes, it definitely is not for the weak! When I heard you were hand sewing I was like oh no your hands,, I hope you made it through okay!
There isn't really a 'right' way to pin, but I usually poke into the fabrics, then out, then in, then out. It's a bit like a running stitch, but I just find that it holds a lot more securely than just pinning in then out.
GIRL HAND SEWING IS NOT FOR THE WEAK!!!!! Something in my spirit sank when you said you were gonna hand sew it! Let’s get a sewing machine together diva!😭 IT IS WORTH IT!
Unless it's a specific corset thing, I advise against tying the knot at the needle and instead doubling up your thread and tying it on the far end. That way you're not having to fight against the knot every time you make a stitch

You'd break a needle on the corset boning on a sewing machine 🤣
So hand sewing was best practice.
tbh buy the sewing machine 🥹 it’s a long term investment esp if you want to continue making cosplay costumes & more!
Ooh im early i think
I love how this all started from one hate comment she turned into basically motivation😭
I have the same kit
Sewing by hand is just torture. Invest in a sewing machine as soon as you can.
Just remember we have the option of a sewing machine. We used to not have the option.

begging you to rip your seams instead of cutting the serged edge off wholesale! that way you can worry less about fraying (plus seam ripping is fun)
Friend if you wanted to you could sew it at the new central library!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
