DC Comics hired me to create a cosplay to celebrate the anniversary of Wonder Woman. This cosplay is based on the New 52 design, so I’m using this corset as the start of the armor. I just sketched out where the designs need to go and then glued strips of 2mm EVA foam for the panels. And then after sealing the foam, I’m just using acrylic paints. The tiara and necklace are made the same way out of foam, and the bracers are 3D printed. I am so excited for this cosplay because not only do I love Wonder Woman, but I also love what she stands for. When I was growing up, I kind of hid a lot of my more nerdy interests like comics and dressing up because I was scared of being judged and being different. When I did start to get more into the cosplay community and stopped caring what people thought of me, it’s honestly like everything just fell into place. For me, a big part of truth is authenticity, and cosplay is one of the ways that I stay authentic to myself. And this is the finished costume. Not to be dramatic, but I think this is my new favorite cosplay ever. Happy anniversary, Wonder Woman.
