My Crazy Cosplay in the Philippines…

Guess where I’m going. [Music] Oh my god, [Music] this room is kind of crazy. All right, hello everyone. I’m sorry I look so busted, but we literally just checked into the hotel. And before we get into anything else, let me show you around because this place is actually insane. Right off the entrance, first thing you see, boom, guest bathroom. What kind of hotel room has a guest bathroom? That’s crazy. If you look over here, you enter into the main living room. There’s freaking couches here. Uh, you got a television mounted on the wall, as well as well, I’m sure the view is beautiful, but I can’t really see much right now. That’s not even the most insane part of all of this because if we come over here, we have a walk-in closet, a dedicated room for clothes and whatnot. There’s like a vanity mirror here as well. And right beside that, look at this freaking bedroom. What kind of hotel is this? And last but not least, look at this bathroom, dude. You have a bathtub just out in the open over sitting the uh the view outside. You got double sinks over here. This is a toilet over here. This one is a shower. Oh my lord. Anyways, I just wanted to say this place is absolutely freaking insane. I was in the middle of unpacking when someone rang on the doorbell and turns out we have a complimentary gift basket. It says uh Filipino delicacies. There’s crispy rice, cashew tart, banana chips, and I don’t know, just like these small snacks as a uh welcome to the hotel, I suppose. But pretty cool. Anyways, I’m going to try these. But while I do that, let me also tell you about what we are doing here in this mysterious, unknown country that you probably already guessed is the Philippines. Why am I in the Philippines? You may have seen 2 years ago, I was in the Philippines for a convention called Conquest. And you know, while they are no longer around for many, many reasons, there is another convention in the Philippines this time called an Friends. and they have actually invited me back here to Manila to appear at the convention as well as meet a ton of you guys. So that is why you know I did fly from actually Japan if you saw the previous vlog to the Philippines now and we will be here for the next 2 days for this convention. Now this is super super exciting because I don’t really get the chance to visit the Philippines ever. The thing that’s very special about the Philippines to me is there’s a ton of you guys who watch my videos and support my content here. And this gives me a chance to, you know, be able to meet some of you guys in person and actually be able to see you face to face. Because, you know, while I can feel your support through, you know, my stream, whether you be in the chat or watching my videos, it’s never quite the same as actually being able to interact with you guys face to face. So, yeah, super excited to be back. This time we do actually have merchandise as well as a booth for my merch brand May the Ants. I think this is the very first time I am actually um saying this on camera as well. But if you’ve seen, you know, my previous vlogs where I’m wearing this brown, orange, and cream jacket, as well as let me grab it for you. This shirt here, we have a Philippines convention exclusive. On the front, we do have Mayi the ant, our mascot with the sun in the back. And this is a graphic tea, Langam the Ant, a little Philippines convention exclusive here for you guys that are attending the convention. Super excited to be here setting up our merch. It is currently 8:45. Just got to the hotel and unpacked everything. We shouldn’t have too much planned for the rest of the day. Just going to go grab dinner, maybe see a couple of friends, and then I do have to prep some stuff for, you know, the booth tomorrow as well as just finish a little bit of work. But yeah, I’m super excited for this convention as well as this trip. Can’t wait for you guys to see my experience in the Philippines through this vlog as well. And it’s going to be fun. Has a slightly sweet aftertaste of banana, but not too overwhelmingly sweet. Being dry, it also takes out like a lot of the actual like punch. Savory yet still sweet aftertaste of a snack. I do like this one. Okay, this is the crispy tart. Here’s what it looks like. Oh, sorry. This is actually the crispy rice. I don’t know why I thought it’d be like soft and chewy like a Rice Krispie. It literally says crispy. I have no words. 10 out of 10. Okay, this is the cashew tart. Tastes like a tart with cashews in it. I’m a great food reviewer. Okay, I’m going to go eat dinner. I think the thing I am Oops. most proud of are these here. Custom Gotcha Polaroids. One tenth of them will have a gold Anthony Chen signature. You know, I love my gotcha. But we also have a stande here. All of the merch prepped and ready for tomorrow. But it’s going to be an exciting day. I need to go to sleep because I need to wake up early. But yeah, stay tuned. I don’t think I look like him at all right now. No, you have to trust the process, bro. Once you get the wig on, the the wig changes everything. I’m like so contour. Oh my god. Look at me, bro. I I I can’t lie, I wasn’t a believer at the beginning. I was like, uh, I don’t really look like them. And I don’t know if I do look like them at right now. But yeah, this cosplay is freaking sick. Shout out to Stella Knight, as well as all the makeup artists putting on this amazing look. And I think we’re just going to film some more content, maybe walk around the convention. I do want to go visit my booth. Rumsha is actually running that right now by herself. So, I do want to go provide some assistance. But yeah, this is the final look. Loving deep space cosplay. It is 1:00 a.m. and I am finally back at my hotel room. Just, you know, wanted to check in, give you guys a quick little recap for the day, and you just talk to you guys a little bit because obviously with everything going on today, I was pretty preoccupied. Didn’t get the chance to really vlog that much, but I’m sure you can tell that it was quite quite busy. And oh boy, was this cosplay a crazy experience. The way I actually got started or got into this particular cosplay project was I was reached out to by Stella. She offered me the opportunity to cosplay with other guys. Me personally, I haven’t played Love in Deep Space yet. I’ve seen a lot of it. I’ve heard a lot of it as well, and I did do, you know, my research. So, I hope, you know, I did do Raphael somewhat of a justice in the portrayal. But first of all, I do want to give a huge shout out to Knight, to Stella, as well as the other members of the makeup team because they did such an incredible job getting us all styled, doing all the makeup, getting the cosplays ready. Stella actually ordered these cosplays and tailored them to fit us. Yeah, I think they turned out great. At the end of it, I legitimately could not recognize myself. That was crazy. That was not me. That was someone else, dude. What a crazy transformation. And obviously just to get together with all the other guys and do this cosplay was freaking crazy. I’m sure you’ll see or you will have seen the bunch of just short form content that’s come out from our shoot here. But such an amazing experience. Super super tiring. Would totally be down to do it again. And I hope you guys enjoyed it as well. So for you Love and Deep Space fans out there, I don’t know. Stay tuned. Maybe you might see a Love and Deep Space gameplay experience on the Ant Ventures channel sometime in the future, but we’ll think about that. The cosplay was enough for now. After the cosplay, we actually did go down to walk on the expo floor and oh my god, we got freaking mobbed by everyone. At some point, there was just like this entire crowd just surrounding us, literally just blocking off the hall. I felt kind of bad cuz no one could get like past us. But I actually made my way over to the Mayi booth where a bunch of you guys were lined up and I got the chance to, you know, meet you guys, sell some merch as well as sign some stuff. If you guys were waiting there for a while, I do apologize. As you can probably tell from this vlog, I was really, really busy for the day. But I’m glad I got the chance to actually go down, meet you guys, run the booth for a little bit. And appreciate everyone that I did meet at the convention so far. Super stoked to meet everyone else who’s going to be attending day two as well. And I, you know, do actually have my meet and greet as well as stage event coming up. So that’s going to be pretty pretty exciting. Uh so yeah, going to get some bed. Going to get some bed. Going to get to bed, catch some sleep, and see you guys tomorrow for my K-pop makeup. So, basically, this was uh Lily’s makeup team, hair and makeup team that she flew out for this convention. And, you know, I thought it’d be a fun opportunity just to be able to get my makeup and hair professionally done. And honestly, I think they did a fantastic job. I showed Mr. Business proposal here and I was like, “Yeah, I want like something, you know, more natural and just like, you know, kind of like a part in my hair.” And she was like, “Oh, yeah.” And when I looked up, bro, I look freaking white as a ghost. Oh my goodness. Honestly, looks pretty good. I still have a clip in my hair. I’m supposed to like take this out before my meet and greet and do a little something there. Yeah, this is the final makeup. The hair will come together in just a little bit, but damn. Oh, here. Let me give you a OOTD. We got the shirt that I got in Japan. These are the cosplay pants, actually. And little secret, if you are uh joining me at the meet and greet, I’m wearing my cosplay shoes that have like 2 in inserts. So, I’m going to be extra tall. Oh my god, it has been such an exhausting day and I’m really sorry. Super busy once again. Didn’t really have time to vlog, but holy cow, what a day. We started off in the morning of course with my makeup and after that we did have the meet and greet. Meet and greet actually went super super well. Uh was a little a little definitely a bit nervous at the very beginning but you know once we got rolling got everyone on stage and got to meet everybody. Uh it was super smooth. Y’all are super super nice. Thank you very very much for all the gifts as well like I said and actually oh my gosh there’s so much stuff from you guys. Thank you very much. I don’t know if I have the room to take everything. I’m going to try. Um, but I will definitely keep all the letters that you guys gave me. So, seriously, thank you very much for showing up to the meet and greet. I appreciate it a ton and it was so so fun to meet each and every single one of you. After the meet and greet, we did have our stage event. The stage event was honestly I thought we were going to play Genchin on it. I did tell you that we were going to play Genshin live in front of an audience. Turns out that didn’t happen. Uh, they actually shortened our stage segment to just 45 minutes. So, we kind of just did like a Q&A up there, kind of like a panel, just talked about stuff, and the turnout was massive, dude. I thought it wouldn’t be like that considering that this convention is supposedly smaller than Conquest, which we came to 2 years ago. But literally, the area was packed. If you guys saw the footage, yeah, the stage itself wasn’t that big, but it was like a sea of people and just the overwhelming amount of support and turnout from this convention as well as the Philippines has just been absolutely phenomenal. And after the panel, I think that ended at 4:30, I went pretty much straight to my booth. Uh, I heard that people had been lining up there for hours before it opened, which oh my god, guys, please, please, please don’t do that. Oh my god, I feel so bad to make you guys wait for so long out there while I’m, you know, out doing my other things for the convention. But, you know, finally got the booth open at around 4:30. And so, so many people I heard that our booth was actually the longest line in the entire convention, which is kind of crazy considering we didn’t even sell out of all the merch. But, um, yeah, we had to end up capping the line at some point. I think I was going for like three and a half almost 4 hours straight. But, you know, to each and every single person who did come up to the booth, waited in that long line. Seriously, thank you so much. I’m so sorry about the wait. Uh, but I hope you guys do enjoy the merchandise, and it was such a pleasure to meet everyone. Unfortunately, not going to be able to take that standy home. Ended up giving it to a staff member because, uh, she had been helping us for the past 2 days, just standing there at the booth for like 5 hours at a time, which is absolutely insane dedication. But yeah, this was day two, which is actually the final day of the convention. I am finally done with all my uh sponsored obligations at the very least. But this isn’t the end of the vlog. We are staying in the Philippines for a couple more days. And it’s been super fun as well. If you attended and friends, seriously, thank you so much. I appreciate every single one of you guys. The only thing is it’s kind of expensive. If you guys know the Jung Trio, three uh cheapest pieces of steak, it’s like $120. Um, so I think all of us here are probably going to share some of this, but yeah, just cool to try. apparently. This is life changing. It’s pretty good. A lot richer. Very, very sweet. [Music] Oh, it’s so thick. [Music] I definitely taste the garlic in this. But on the show, they were like, “Oh my god, this is so good.” It’s pretty good. I don’t think it’s like life changing. It’s just like a good vom with garlic. I don’t like that. [Music] I mean, you can definitely taste all three of the jungs in each separate item on the plate. I don’t know how well they work together to like complement each other as part of one dish though. It’s pretty good. I think the steak has a really interesting flavor. You don’t even need like it’s already seasoned with the sauce here. As you can see, TLDDR, it’s pretty good, but not $120 good. We got scammed. I love you though, culinary class wars. Final thing I’m eating in the Philippines. This is a Filipino food. Wait, this whole game. Inception. Uh, Inception Deception. Squid Game perfectionist. Crazy. Uh, Squid Game election.
