Hello! This is Ai from Midochare TV. Our setting for this episode is a forest park in Saitama Prefecture. It’s about an hour from Ikebukuro on the Tobu Tojo Line. Musashino Hills Forest Park is Japan’s first national park, and this station is its gateway. On weekends, it’s bustling with families and couples. I heard there’s a relaxing hotel right in front of the station that’s highly rated by word of mouth, so I was intrigued and decided to check it out. Today, I’ll be staying at a special Seibu Lions-themed concept room. While I’m not particularly knowledgeable about baseball, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay as a travel lover. I think this video will be enjoyable for both baseball fans and non-fans, so please watch until the end. So, let’s get started! So, we’ve arrived at the south exit of Shinrin-koen Station. The hotel is about a minute away from the south exit. I found a yakitori restaurant in front of the station. There’s a Lawson convenience store right next to the hotel. I was wondering what to have for dinner at the time, so I was doing some research to make sure I didn’t end up in a dinner paradise. And here is the hotel where I’ll be staying tonight: Moririn Hotel. It’s a relatively new hotel, having opened in 2020. Let’s go inside. As an official sponsor of the Seibu Lions, Moririn Hotel offers Concept Rooms and Lions Club Rooms, each decorated in Lions style. So, I’ve arrived at the hotel. Today, I’m staying in a slightly unusual room, a Concept Room. There’s actually a Seibu Lions Room! This is the current designated floor. The Lions Club Floor is designed to evoke the atmosphere of the stadium, with replica uniforms adorning the walls. So, my room for today is Room 206. Let’s go inside. Yes, I’ve arrived at my room. The Lions Rooms are divided into rooms for each player. Which player am I? Let’s take a room tour. Here’s the overall atmosphere of the room. Yes, this is Takeuchi’s room. The main mural is of pitcher Takeuchi. Let’s take a look at each one. Just inside the entrance, there’s a section with hangers where you can hang your clothes. Also, just inside the entrance, there’s a sink. It looks brand new and clean. The hair dryer is a Panasonic Ionity. Yes. Below that is a refrigerator. Yes. There’s also an electric kettle, mugs, and tea and coffee makers. Water is provided. The desk is very compact, but it seems usable without any problems. Yes. As a bonus for this room, you’ll receive a pen and letter set with a Seibu Lions design. I think fans will be thrilled. There’s also a large TV. There’s a large Lions logo on the wall. Below the TV, there’s a safe, a trash can, and an air purifier and humidifier. Yes. There’s a luggage rack. The curtains, too, have Lions written on them, which is cute. This is sure to be a must-see for fans. Since we’re near the curtains, let’s take a look at the view. It’s a place rich in nature, so just looking outside feels good. As you can see, there’s a convenience store nearby, so I’m thinking of going out to buy some groceries first. And here’s the bed. It says Lions, which is cute. Since I’m not eye-level with the players on the wall, I don’t feel like I’m being watched, and it’s relaxing. Well, I’m sorry , I’m not that knowledgeable about baseball. I just thought the concept room was lovely, and I thought some people might want to know what a room like this is like, so I decided to come here. There’s a light switch and an outlet by the bed. And there’s a small sofa next to the bed. The pillow is quite soft, and the height is just right. It’s plump and plush. The nightwear was unexpected. It’s a yukata. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a yukata in a business hotel . Now, let’s take a look at the restroom. It’s a very clean restroom. There’s a Lions mark here too. It looks like this one too. There’s also a shower room next to the toilet. There’s a large public bath here, so I probably won’t use the shower room. The shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are like this. That was the room tour. Let’s take a look at the shared spaces. On the second floor, where the Lions Room is, there are vending machines and a coin laundry. Drinks were reasonably priced. And the ice machine is conveniently located right next to the room. And what’s great is that there’s a large public bath. This is the first floor. There are vending machines on the first floor, too. There’s also a microwave, so if you’re not eating out, you can heat up your groceries here and eat them. After that, I went to a convenience store and bought a bunch of alcohol. So I wanted to eat yakisoba in my room. However, the convenience store didn’t have any tasty-looking yakisoba, so I bought something different. I’ll tell you what I bought later. So, I thought I’d have a light snack while I was here. I ordered edamame beans. The presentation is stylish and looks delicious. Let’s eat. The noodles are boiled just right, with just the right amount of salt, and are very tasty. The chips were also very good. By the way, this is the menu. As it is a cafe, it feels like a place where you can have a proper meal. So the snacks to go with alcohol are relatively limited, just edamame beans and sausages. I ordered edamame beans and, which will be introduced later, fried loach. Yes, this is fried loach. The frying is very skillful. I thought the presentation was very stylish. Let’s try it . It’s been a while since I’ve eaten loach . I had the impression that loach has a fishy smell, but it wasn’t at all. However, I thought the portion was a bit too much for one person. It was an unusual menu for a cafe, so I wondered if loach are caught around here? I asked the chef the next morning, and he told me that this hotel originally started as a restaurant. At the time, this fried loach was a popular menu item, and the owner wanted to keep it, so it seems to have been passed down to the present day. In a way, it’s a specialty of this hotel, and a part of its history, so even though the portion was a little large, I was glad I was able to enjoy it. It was a good choice. Yes. I’m back in my room. Actually, I bought my final meal at a convenience store, so to refresh myself, I had a drink at the restaurant on the first floor and ate some snacks. Apparently, the hot spring isn’t a spring that flows directly from the hotel, but rather is brought in from somewhere. After the bath, it’s time for breakfast. It’s located on the first floor, at Cafe Restaurant Berry’s. The mornings have a refreshingly different atmosphere from the evenings. Let’s take a look at the breakfast menu. The colorful, delicious-looking dishes are lined up. And here’s the breakfast I brought with me. Let’s eat. I started with the salad. The fresh vegetables were crunchy and juicy, and I could really feel the freshness. And here’s what I think is red sea bream carpaccio. It was delicately cut and had a wonderful texture. Amazingly, this breakfast is free for guests staying at the hotel. Apparently, it’s available for 1,500 yen for non-guests. This restaurant specializes in dishes made with plenty of fresh local ingredients, a real plus for travelers. I ‘d like to return to try their seasonal dishes again . My favorites were the meat and potato stew I was eating, and the garlic rice was also delicious. I often talk about umami, and I’m someone who really wants umami in my food. I’m very particular about that. The food here was packed with umami. And this pasta was also incredibly delicious, to the point that I wondered if the chef was from Italy. Afterwards, I got to talk to the chef, and he told me he was from France. Everything was delicious, and I truly felt like I’d like to come back and have this breakfast again. And let’s not forget this curry. It’s superb. Other customers were also telling the chef how delicious this curry was. It’s great. Privately run hotels offer flexibility, don’t they ? The staff are all incredibly kind. I saw several guests who I thought were probably just staying at this hotel. And now, the price.
