A 24-year-old Chinese cosplayer and influencer, Mao YouYou, sadly passed away on February 25, 2025, reportedly due to complications related to depression. In a livestream shortly before her passing, she shared her difficulties, including going without food for two days and struggling to pay her rent.
Despite facing these challenges, Mao YouYou had built a community of over 50,000 followers online, recognized for her talent in cosplay. She had expressed concerns about her mental health and had sought medical assistance, but was unfortunately unable to secure an appointment.

Living alone in such a young age needs to be stopped. My parents wants me to live with them until I get married. And once I got a kid myself, I wont let them try to survived on their own in such a young age. You can argue that it might teach them how to survive but theres a higher chance for someone at that age to get depressed instead of learning.
My sisters best friend just left this world on his own terms (don't think I can say the word) and im so heartbroken for her. I know how it feels but time has helped heal my wounds from a long time ago and she's going through it all right now. I feel helpless and wish I could take her pain away. I really wish people would think of the people they will leave behind but I understand that their thought process at the time isn't logical. So sad all around.
