How do you guys do the greebles on the helmets and suits? Do you use the same method of priming, sanding and painting, or is it straight to painting?
Hey guys love the video very usefull, but I got a quick question, how did you manage to print the helmet without the interior support ?
instead of a file sander: get a foot sander! not as aggressive, but gets the work done without the manual labour
GOOD OL CARDBOARD AND HOT GLUE DOES THE JOB JUST AS FINE
You look good man keeping healthy. I got my Boba helmet 3D parts and will be ordering the armor next week. Then the guns, two weeks after that.
HELLDIVERSSSS HELL YEAHHH
also i got a bamu labs A1 combo an my first 3d printer and i cold not be more happy with that decision
I’m a broke college student but I printed, painted, and assembled a set of B0-1 Helldivers armor for less than $250 I printed it on a Ender 3 V1 printer I got off facebook marketplace for $40 and the rest of the items I either had, or bought for cheap off amazon 3d printing is definitely the way to go if you dont want to spend a lot of money.
centauri carbon is pretty cheap, has a large bed, and works good
Approximately how many man-hours did this take?
8:32 Fun fact when using a file to smooth your seams the vile is a one direction tool so when you hacksaw back and forth during passed you will be dulling your file on the draw back also using a wire brush is pretty crucial to preserve your tool life
You can do the stapling on the cheap with a soldering iron and some paperclips. Cut and shape the paperclip into the s shape and slowly push in. Top off with some melted filament on top of the paperclipped zone. I spent weeks trying to print and assemble a 5' longsword with small printed sections that were about 15cm tall at most, and this was the only method that let me swing the finished sword without fear of it flexing and snapping at the joints.
Great video, now show us how you make the visor screens lol
Finally got my printer and I'm back for a second watch lol. Thank you guys so much for posting this. I'm making really amazing stuff my first go because of this tutorial. This video has thrown me into a hobby that I love so much. I haven't had this much fun making things since I was a kid.

Loved watching this while printing Marikas hammer on the a1 mini 😌
Did you print 1kg? Or was it less? 1kg seams pretty heavy for a display or/and cosplay helmet 🤔
My brother in democracy, 50USD for the visor is insane
Quick question. For the past few months I have been struggling to get my prints to stay to the bed. I have washed the thing, tried tape, glue, leveling it. I am really frustrated that my prop hobby has been put on hold till this problem is fixed. It is an older and smaller model the Ender 3 V3 SE. If you have any tips please help me out. I am willing to try anything at this point. P.S love your vids they have kept me motivated to fix this problem.
Every video you guys post there is something new to learn for this hobby. Keep at it guys, youre awesome!
I have a $350 Neptune 4 max. I can print a helmet in one day, half a roll of $20 filament and in one piece
Things have drastically changed in the past 10 years. For conventions I used to spend $120* on wire, foam, heat gun, thin plastic and that was just for a helmet
I haven't done cosplay with it YET but other projects is printing in ASA (or ABS) instead of PLA. It's slightly more expensive, but stronger so you're less likely to have broke props during a con, you can vapor smooth it with acetone (or just brush it on and let it dry, less acetone efficient but faster and I'm impatient), and also make a wonderful gap filling goop by dissolving failed prints and removed supports in acetone. Acetone also works to basically meld pieces together, AND I've found after smoothing that it takes acrylic paints really well, without even needing primer.
edit: oh, and if you DO need to sand it before smoothing, it sands much better than PLA
I hate watching youtube tutorials for any reason but I have literally never been more excited to learn about a hobby from a youtube video in my entire life than I am right now. I am so hyped to start working on my helldivers cosplay and I love learning how to do it properly
You'd need a dust filter to catch all those plastic sanding dust, all that microplastics are terrible to breath in.
