  1. The makeup actually kinda gives me Linda Carter. I know you've done remake Wonder Woman, but you could pull off classic Wonder Woman if you haven't yet and you felt so inclined!

But anyway, that costume in 3 days in *ABSOLUTELY NUTS*!!! You look amazing!

  2. honestly showing the 3 methods to do a costume now, in July, gives people who aren't insane like you a chance to think about it and make their own maybe (in probably more than 3.5 days hahaha) <3 I really like this format!

  3. Hi Rachel ! First, loved the video ! Second, for the hat, I think you can try with cornstarch (maybe it work with other starch but that is the one I used), you mix it with hot water and spray it on the hat, let it set flat and VOILA ! From memory, I forgot to put it in hot water so I Iron it still wet and it worked fine as well. The only recomandation is not to oversaturate it, otherwise it will be shiny and will look like literal glue on your hat. Mine was a felted hat so I think yours will work just fine :3 Hope this will help !

  4. I'm assuming when Rachel said hit Google up, it triggered everybody's Google devices to start searching. Including hers lol. Which is why her Google home responded 😂

  5. this reminds me of Annika Victoria’s series “thrift, flip, buy” except you did all three. 🥲

i meant it as a compliment in case it didn’t come across that way ❤

  6. Next time you work with cloth that fine, you might try a trick i saw someone use with organza, which was that she pinned it onto heavy paper.

  7. For the floppy hat, you could probably do something with spray-on starch. And you might be able to add some wire to the rim to stiffen it.

For the wig, you can probably supplement with hair extensions.

  8. Oh my god! The joy that surged through me when I saw just the tail of my old buddy on the carousel! (the hippocampus, or dragon as I called it as a child) ❤

Great video! I really liked the comparison of different ways of costuming/cosplaying. 😁

  9. The made one is practically perfect in every way! I am sure I'm not the only one who made this joke in the comments, but the first 10 or so I read didn't have it, so here I am.

  10. My 3-year-old is in the ‘why’ phase, I tried my hardest to provide answers but the drew an utter blank for:
“Why does she have eye hands?”
    “Why is she married?”
    and my favourite,
    “Why is she doing this?”

  11. Loved your outfits😍 homemade definitely the best. To me the corset piece looked to have a crescent shape under the bosoms…also very angled in places….arching up towards the pits..away from the hips..then very v to the pelvis….loved the skirt and ruffle shirt…so clever😍😍😍😍😍.

  12. Also, those three methods can definitely be mixed and matched. For my professor McGonnigal costume, I absolutely thrifted the cloak, bought a costume hat and made the rest.

  13. I blame my home ec. teacher for my ferocious crafters audacity… for my first sewing project ever she let me make a dog bed that had a bone cut out patch detail, and that skinny tubing around the edges for my second big project/ final she let me do an entire Inuyasha cosplay and for just funzies to let me make a purse without a pattern I believe her words were you could try, but it’s pretty hard to make something without a pattern so of course to me that meant I had to make not only a purse, but it had to be reversible 😂 I still have it. It’s completely functional.😂

  14. 9:11 Not me making a blanket today and having to remake it like 3x because I did the sandwich thing wrong 2x🤦‍♀️ and almost quitting because I was frustrated but then I got it and I’m so happy🥰 it’s tie-dye, and green paisley

  15. Wire in the brim of the hat for both stiffness and pose-ability!! You can always whip-stitch it along the edge of the hat and then sew a white ribbon on over the wire to hide it.

  16. If you're doing Julie Andrews, it would be insane if you were to figure out how to do a transforming outfit and do a Victor Victoria outfit that transforms from a suit to one of Victoria's costumes.

  17. It’s funny, because I find sewing itself to be so soothing. As long as the machine behaves, lol. Also, I’m normally a hybrid between methods two and three. Last Halloween, my daughter was Dorothy, and her pinafore was all drafted and sewn from scratch, but shirt and shoes were thrifted upcycled. My wicked witch costume was all upcycled fabric, but major alterations.
